I had the opportunity go experience the Paint Rock Lodge first hand. Bill Kraft was the head guide and outfitter while I stayed at the Paint Rock Lodge. I had a great hunting experience, that I really have a hard time comparing to anything else. The accommodations were outstanding, and the meals were like eating at a 5 star hotel. Not only did we get to hunt for some great animals, we were able to do a little trout fishing and let me tell you, it was some of the most fun of the whole trip. The area we hunted was comprised of large open areas, know as parks, and lots of areas above the timberline at the base of Cloud Peak. The weather was somewhat cooperative, but what can you expect for Wyoming mountain weather in the late days of September.

Many famous people have visited the lodge over the years and have enjoyed the same awesome hunting and fishing experiences as I did. During my stay at the Paint Rock Lodge. I was able to get a great 4x4 Mule Deer, along with a nice 6x6 elk, taken by my friend, Mr. Mark Schall, Spatial Data Consultants. The area is fairly rugged terrain with some areas only accessible by horseback. The horses provided were very gentle and were not spooked easily. We started hunting before daybreak, and returned to the lodge after dark had fallen in the evening. The lake in front of the lodge, is as postcard a sight as you will ever see with sunsets that rival anything you can imagine.
